Wildsong Sauvignon Blanc
Hawkes Bay, New Zealand
About the Wine
“Te Awanga, with its sea views and breezes, coastal loams and salty air, is the main line for us. The vineyards, the people, the winemaking, the tinkering, the thinking, the planning and dreaming – these moving parts all eventually arrive at the one point – Te Awanga. It’s where it all comes together”
This Sauvignon Blanc comes from a blend of grapes from two distinctly different areas in Hawke’s Bay. The majority of the blend is from vines planted in the late 1990’s at Mangatahi – alluvial shingle terraces above the Ngaruroro River. The balance comes from Te Awanga – think shallow volcanic soils with an underlying clay pan.
Fresh passionfruit, ripe peaches and a hint of lemon rind on the nose. Bright passionfruit and stonefruit flavours on the palate, nestle in with gooseberry and guava.
