2017 Tenuta Chevalier 'Rocchetto' Corvina Verona IGT
Italy This wine spends five years in barrel before bottling and release. Drinks like an Amarone with intense, savory, concentrated fruit notes of fig and raisin and a rich, full mouthfeel. Similar to that of Amarone pairings, perhaps a bit less tannic so some spicier roasts would work here!
2019 Tenuta Chevalier 'Amarone Della Valpolicella' Classico
Italy Plenty of dried prunes, dark fruit, spices and an almond finish. The finish on this wine never seems to end, as it is here where you feel the beauty and true balance of this wine. Open it up and drink it all week, the raw power of this wine will last that long. No industrial tannins here nor any from over-oaking, which would fade more easily.
2021 Tenuta Chevalier 'Valpolicella' Classico
Italy This wine undergoes a cryo-macertion and just stainless steel aging that lead to a freshness in the glass that is unlike the prevailing overextended style of most Valpolicella on the market. With a crazy bright fruit and super high acid this wine is a friend to food. Pairs well with grilled fish or even summer salad as well.
2019 Tenuta Chevalier 'Valpolicella Ripasso' Classico Superiore
Italy Varietal : Corvina Veronese 40%, Corvina Grossa 20%, Rondinella 30%, Molinara 5%, Oseleta 5%. A dry red wine, often called baby Amarone, as it has many of the characteristics of Amarone but is made in a more approachable style. With plenty of aging behind this wine, it’s certainly full bodied, rich and well structured. Dried dark fruits dominate with hints of tart almonds. This wine also has a killer back end spice and acidity to finish it off with some freshness. There is also a very appealing but subtle herbal note on the finish that stays with you.
